I use slightly modified Atari paddles for my beebs when I take them to shows and have ported a few arcade games that use them, Circus/Acrobat TV, Super Breakout, Rip Cord and Warloards (4 player with one of my adapters).
I posted how to do the mod with pictures, but after half an hour of searching, neither I nor Google can find the thread or even the picture locally so that I can do a google image search!
Before I started using Atari paddles, I made my own with a potentiometer, knob, push button, small box some alarm wire and a 15pin DSUB connector. I can't find this thread either!
Whilst looking, I could swear that I found a thread on best paddle games for the beeb but can now only find best joystick games for the beeb!
I don't remember any commercial paddles, but I did make one or two bitd as I loved paddles games. Unfortunately, I haven't found any of the games for paddles I wrote back then but they were probably in basic as it was one of the first things I did before bying a pair of analogue joysticks to go in a model aircraft controller and making a cardboard box to house them and a couple of buttons.
There weren't many joystick games either back then, but all of my games except the paddle ones support keyboard and joystick, as well as mice for Missile command (PS/2 mouse or trackball require one of my adapters, or make your own :)).
