So I've had my BBC for a little over a year now and I love it! I've installed MMFS and have a micro SDCard reader installed in the User port, with a ton of games on it. Unfortunately, the collection I have isn't exclusive to a 32k Model B. As such, it's been a bit of a chore to sort out which games will actually run on my machine from those meant for a BBC Master, dual processor, and so forth. To that end, I want to put the software I know to work on my machine onto real floppies. Partly for convenance. Partly because I just love 5.25 inch floppies!
It took me a while to find a compatible drive (with an enclosure), but I was able to connect a "360k" 5.25 inch floppy drive, and was then able to successfully format a Double Density/Double Sided disk. As well as save a handful of BASIC programs on it and load them back from the disk. So everything seems to be working. At least so far.
Unfortunately, I've only managed to access my floppy drive through Opus DDOS, but the MicroSD can only be accessed through MMFS. So now I'm thinking of connecting a Gotek as an alternative. The issue is that I have Opus DDOS and an 8272 disc controller, which, as I understand it, may not be compatible with all BBC disk formats. So my question is: Can I do this? Will Opus DDOS recognize the Gotek? And if it does, will it be able to load/access the disk images?
