I've yet to put the usual drives back in the FileStore and seal it up again and hope it still works, and then I can perhaps look at hard drives. I did bring the box marked "SCSI discs unsuitable for BBC host adapter" out of the garage several days ago but this latest fault has delayed things.
The clock is still running a bit fast, and I think has got worse since yesterday but whether I will do anything more about it I'm not sure yet. I have noticed that with the oscilloscope still on pin 23 of the 146818, the frequency increases when there is floppy disc access, presumably meaning the RTC speeds up. But surely the software compensates for that...
I've been wondering whether to add this third FileStore to my Econet as a permanent exhibit. I wasn't really planning to have all 3 FileStores as part of my setup, but after all this, I think maybe I should keep it somewhere I can keep an eye on it. I've made the earlier E01S which started this thread as Station 253 (plus dead E40S disc), and the E01/E20, which was my original Econet file server, predating Master Turbo Station 200, is back as Station 252. So there is a lone E01S Station 251 in the making. There's just about room for it above Station 253 I think.
