8-bit acorn hardware • Re: Setting a real-time clock to centi-second accuracy

Just FYI... A quick try on my old mac laptop, which should be nicely network time-synced, and I find time.gov reckons it is 89ms adrift.
That site says I'm 0.1s adrift, though I'm supposed to be ntp-synced to time.euro.apple.com. I'll see about installing ntpdate.
Could you use the Mac to send the time set command to the Beeb? Strikes me that with NTP, an active internet connection and better timekeeping hardware, the Mac is a better source than manually setting the Beeb's clock then adjusting for differences afterwards?
Perhaps, but I'd rather not bake something so specific to my setup into the rom I'm developing. Perhaps I'll write a utility to do that, but it will use the adjust feature I've already got working. It also doesn't solve the problem of communication delay between the mac and the beeb. I prefer the idea of ntp over econet, or maybe ntp over serial. I'll have to read up how ntp works.
