I have memories of a group of BBC machines on the school Econet collaboratively number crunching for a Mandelbrot program. The timing was pretty impressive; a single machine running the program standalone took over 24 hours to complete the image. The group of machines on the Econet completed the same image in 6 minutes (I think).
The program was in one of the computer magazines we used to get - Beebug, Acorn User or Micro User possibly. It would be around 1986 or 1987. When the Archimedes computers came out they could do the processing in real time and made the beebs look a bit sick.![Confused :?]()
