Lots of progress over the Christmas break ![Smile :)]()
- title screen & instructions added
- helicopter accelerates/decelerates to keep 0xC0DE happy![Wink ;)]()
- sound effects for bullets, missiles, power ups and explosions
- difficulty increases the further you manage to fly
- force field appears at defined intervals
- gauges to show how much shields/fuel is left - these flash if getting low
- lots of optimisations for both cycles & memory
Currently 878 bytes free, my todo list is (in no particular order)
- another alien type - possibly a "boss" type
- support for different key layouts, I will probably offer 3 different choices rather than allowing user definition but we will see
- an attract mode / a display of what each alien is worth when shot
- maybe a high score table
- try and free up some more cycles to allow more bullets, currently limited to 3 player & 3 alien bullets on screen at the same time
A colleague at work has composed some awesome music for me, so I'm hoping to get that in at some point too and also hoping to offer the track as a download from the web site as it really deserves to be heard properly rather than as a series of "fairly melodic" beeps![Wink ;)]()
As ever, a preview version is playable via the awesome Electroniq from 0xC0DE: https://github.com/rasto68/apache-canyon
