HiThank you, It's also a tale of "having the right bits" to start with! This thread is a happy tale
The OSSC was a massive part of moving forward with this, the VGA->HDMI adaptor I had just didn't work with the video output the RiscPC was giving, I'd been meaning to get an OSSC for a number of years, but this pushed me over the line, and a proper PS/2 keyboard rather than the cheap Chinese USB keyboard that came with an adaptor was the other stumbling block.
Got there in the end. I replaced the floppy with a gotek running flash floppy and I managed to find a demo I wrote on the hard disk!
Now to put the machine to use!
One thing that's bugging me is those 1206 resistors, they're not on the schematic that somebody reversed for this board, they're on the 12 and -12 rails, I thought the thermal camera might have had a false positive due to material or something, but my finger can confirm they really are that hot.
I don't know if anybody else has a thermal camera, but I'd love to know what temperature these are reaching on other boards, at some point I'll try to figure out exactly where they're connected to in regards to the 16bit schematic, the fact that they're specifically 1206 leads me to believe that they do run warm, but without anything to check against I can't really comment further.
Just found your post from 2 years ago. If your still around would you mind sharing the OSSC settings you used to get such a sharp image. I am using an OSSC with an A3000 and it's great but with my A7000 its awful and I just can't seem to work out why the difference.
Thanks
John
