Regarding the MOS 3.50 incompatibility, note that this is my updated build of MOS 3.50 (https://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28879), with a bunch of code rearrangements and a few new features and stuff. At a guess, it might be due to the I2C ROM's use of locations $60...$6f, which the updated MOS now uses when the Tube is active. (Acorn MOS 3.50 only uses up to $56!) Please do send me the code, and I'll have a quick look in order to check this theory.
The updated MOS isn't supposed to introduce any new incompatibilities, so I'll have a think about what it should do about this. There are options.
