32-bit acorn hardware • Re: Double keyboard trouble

OK, this continues.

I actually got *both* keyboards working by trimming a couple of mm from them. Newly emboldened, I then decided to socket the ARM on the second board, so I could swap the ARM3 from the first (which is working, but with many more patch wires) over. And:

- With the ARM 3 fitted, I'm stuck at a red screen - even with the delete key held

- Fitting the ARM 2 results in a 'dead' system, with no display - except it works *fine* in the first board

Attaching the Postbox with the ARM3 installed, I get an 'SRAM Err 80' error - but also:

CAMs :
CAM unm 07F.0003
PPLs :
PPL bad F.0.0000

Weirder still, if I continue to hold the delete key (which I rigged with a piece of wire), the system eventually resets - after which it shows a black screen with a red border (indicating that the CMOS was reset) and boots to the desktop fine.

I've obviously perturbed something, but it's not clear what. I've also swapped in the RTC from the first system as a known-good part, but without improvement, on the theory that the RTC is somehow initially unresponsive.

This all seems a bit like either a.) the keyboard is initially unresponsive, or b.) it's some kind of reset issue. Any suggestion? Thanks!
