This is great stuff - one of those ideas that you can quickly see will roughly work, but requires a big input of effort to see whether it can be made to work well enough to actually be useful rather than a flaky curiosity. So hats off to you for both putting in that effort and then sharing it with the rest of us.

No personal knowledge, but it probably wasn't a big deal either way as reportedly one of the things Acorn got wrong about the US market was that taking over the domestic TV wasn't popular and people were looking for a package including a monitor.I've no idea how many devices in NTSC land would have had comb filters in the 1980s but I suspect it was enough that this may have been another nail in the coffin of Acorn's ill-fated American adventure? It would certainly not have helped. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience of using US beebs.
