Thought I'd better close this thread . . .

Fixed: One Sunday I spent 5 hours reinstalling Windows 11 and letting it install any upgrades it needed - followed by a complete reinstall of Altium.

Result: all working again. I'm now trying to catch-up with the various designs I'm working on - Phew!
