It works! I had exactly the same issue with CDP chips in an A3000 and this module appears to solve that.Just in case it helps someone else in the same predicament Image may be NSFW.

I do occasionally see all of CTS/DCD/DSR flicker off and on together though, which doesn't happen with the original CMD chips.
This module does NOT fix the 'same' issue I see with WDC chips though, and indeed loading this module prevents all serial operation with a WDC chip.
So great work - but equally - what a mess for a bit of RS232 !
