On a side note, the recommendation of trying out Tricky's test ROM is sound. In the absence of an EPROM writer, etc., would anyone out there be willing to supply a 'Tricky ROM' ready to go? Obviously, I'm more than happy to cover costs, etc...
My current plan is now to trace the major connections to look for any shorts or (more likely) main board cracks causing OCs. A laborious task, but at least I have the means to do this... Image may be NSFW.
