Hi all,
I recently acquired a RiscPC 600 that appears to be in good condition. There is some battery damage but it is primarily around the battery area and doesn't seem to have spread across the board. I have fitted a new battery.
I have checked continuity between the battery points and the CMOS IC which is positioned towards the middle of the board and it appears to be fine. The CMOS IC is also receiving a voltage.
I have tried removing everything and just booting with the CPU card and RAM - no difference. Holding Delete on startup makes no difference either.
There is activity from the hard drive which sounds consistent with the boot process and the caps, num and scroll lock keys toggle the lights...If it wasn't for the absence of any display at all, I would presume the machine was working!
A quick look with my scope and I can see activity on the ROMs and there is a clock at X3.
So I am rather stuck now. Any ideas?
