I had a pretty yellow keyboard so I though it would be a good thing to use to have a go at retrobrighting
I started off by ordering some 12% hydrogen peroxide and some distilled water.
Next I built a UV light bath, just a big plastic box, lined with aluminum tape, and with led strips stuck inside.
I started off putting the keycaps in their own clear tub of 50/50 peroxide/water roughly 6%. I left they thing turned on out in the garage ad after 12 hours I thought it was not working. Saw some bubbles forming but no reduction in yellowing. The next morning though I noticed a change, in all I left them 120 hours before I was happy. I think a combination of the cold and the low concentration made it take so long but this is just an experiment.
So next I turned to the keyboard housing, this time I put all the rest of the 12% peroxide in neat and left it 24 hours. The top half of the casing is looking done already! the bottom half had some heavier yellowing on it so it is still in there but the picture below shows the progress so far compared to a 'good' keyboard.
One thing I noticed is the Acorn logo has not been at all de-yellowed, but all in all good result so far on the key caps and the casing.
