8-bit acorn hardware • Re: JamSoftElectronULA: A no-frills Electron ULA Replacement Released

To be honest I'm quite shocked, given the deranged excuses for hardware I've forced on my Elks over the years without any lasting problems. I'm not discounting the possibility I have done some kind of damage without realising it. ROM, RAM and ULA all swapped out with no change, so I'm actually wondering if the socket may be at fault.

It's a fairly good quality one, but I've ordered a replacement anyway. This is my 'frankenelk' with an Issue 4 board but usually an Issue 6 ULA in the socket.

Thanks for your kind offer, I'll probably take you up on it if I can't sort this over the next couple of days.
I had to replace my similar looking PGA socket on my issue 6 as the connection was too sketchy and was giving me a lot of grief in testing, so could be that. I've PMd you my address if you'd like to post it over to me to check over and try out, would be good to get to the bottom of it.

Cheers,
Chris.
