ADFS 1.33 as most of my Beeb stuff is stored on a CF card formatted for IDE and used with Retroclinic Datacentre on my Master. This Beeb will hopefully be suitably equipped soon also.
Understood. Personally, if having to purchase a CF interface for the beeb, I'd recommend you consider switching over to Pi1MHz / ADFS v1.30 for your HDD needs. Pi1MHz will also give you RAMFS, MMFS and Music5000 in the same interface. Obviously, they each need their own ROMs as well! However, I understand this may not be that simple as you already have disc images in IDE format, which I assume is different to the scsi0.dat format used by BeebSCSI. Perhaps they can be converted from one format to the other using @geraldholdsworth excellent Disc Image Manager?
I have discovered that if I change the order of the ROMS that ADFS starts up fine as the first filesystem and doesn't hang that way. Econet still working most excellently and now I have it working with BeebEm too :D
But does it still hang if you try and select it with *ADFS or Ctrl-A-Break? Instead of swapping ROMs around, you can set the default file system using the *CONFIGURE FILE x command, where x is the ROM bank number of the file system you want to initialise on power up or reset. So (for example) if ADFS is in bank 13 and NFS is in bank 7, you can *CONFIGURE FILE 7 and the beeb will start up with Econet as the active file system on power up or reset, even though it's in a lower priority bank than ADFS. Note that ADFS is still available via *ADFS or Ctrl-A(or F)-Break, and will still claim workspace. If you don't want it to claim workspace, then temporarily disable the ROM with *UNPLUG 13. *INSERT 13 will make it available again.
Can I put two 16K ROM images in a 32K ROM slot in the Integra board? That way I could put Acornsoft Logo in one chip instead of two. (Multiple turtles agogo!) I really should get a supply of 16K EPROMS though. I'm not actually sure how I ended up with only 32K EPROMS.
Yes, you can put two 16k ROM images into a 32k ROM and plug that into a spare socket on upper row of the IntegraB board. You must leave the lower socket empty if doing that, because it's basically being used by one of the 16k banks in the 32k ROM. Also make sure to set the jumpers for 32k ROM. That's basically what I do with the IBOS / BASIC ROMs, which are 2 x 16k ROM images burned into a 32k ROM.
