Hi, while working on this post, I found that certain people, when loading the welcome disk, need to select whether if they are using a mouse or a joystick to be able to use the arrow pointer in the welcome disk GUI. In my case the mouse works out of the box after loading the disk, but if I select "Devices/Mouse" on the GUI the mouse pointer behaves incorrectly* whereas if I select "Devices/Joystick" it keeps working correctly.
I wonder why I need to select that I'm using a Joystick if I'm using an AMIGA mouse, is there a difference between an AMX Joystick and an AMX Mouse?
Maybe there's something wrong with the wiring of my AMIGA to AMX DB9 mouse adapter that lets the Compact see the mouse like if it were a Joystick. That seems to matter for the MMFS experimental version for the compact that uses PB PINs from the card-edge connector
I followed the instructions on this page mdfs.net - BBC Mice and Mouse Drivers and swapped the Y PINs to let it work like it was said on this post to make the adapter...
*The pointer goes to the top right corner of the display and doesn't move anymore unless I hold the left button clicked and so it would move through the top row of the display to the left
