So, as mentioned yesterday, continuity appears fine between socket, LS241 and IOMD.
With power on BASIC reports all 3 buttons as being pressed but no reaction to mouse clicks. The LS241 gets 5v and each switch imput gets 5v and nothing on the corresponding outputs. I think the outputs should get 5v too.
I have no electronics training by the way.
Clicking each mouse button sets the corresponding switch input on the LS241 to no voltage with no change on the corresponding outputs. So, from the datasheet, when the input is HIGH the output should be HIGH and when the input is LOW the output should be LOW. So here, the outputs are permanently HIGH (no voltage) whilst the inputs change between HIGH & LOW corresponding to the mouse clicks.
So, a faulty LS241. At least, that's how my untrained mind reads it![:-)]( "Smile")
