I think it might be possible to attach a digital RGBtoHDMI to the Spectrum bus in a similar way to the ZX-HD with appropriate driver software and CPLD firmware but it's not something I've looked at yet. I don't have a ZX-HD so do you know if it supports integer scaling or genlocking?
Sorry for the late reply - I'm not sure about genlocking but I believe it supports scaling as you can select some settings in the config file to stretch the pixels to fit a 16:9 screen (but maybe this is not what you intend). I haven't seen any reference in the manual (https://bytedelight.com/zx-hd/ZX-HD%20Manual.pdf) for Genlocking - is there any way I can test this maybe with a simple program for sync test? I can scope some signals if needed.
