8-bit acorn hardware • SMART SPI [Beeb2SD]

Has anyone got any experience with SmartSPI from tfw8b.com?

I've installed the rom, connected the equipment to the user port. When I turn on the bbc I get

BBC Computer 32k
Smart SPI
-

And the BBC hangs. The cursor [_] flashes. The bbc does the familiar two tones. No input again aside from break key.

The lights on the owl from the SD Card are both red and green.

Removing the sd card and reset gives me

BBC Computer 32k
Smart SPI
Card?

As expected.

I have the Watford 32k expansion installed.

I'm not having a lot of luck.
